The Tang Lung returns—reimagined in a woven 3D-printed form to mark Lampu Lampu’s first anniversary. This special edition captures the familiar silhouette of our debut lamp while introducing a new textural dimension using our custom coded 3D printed mesh woven structure. The inner components fade in and out of view depending on the angle you view the lamp at.

Hand-finished and made to order, the Tang Lung Woven Edition is a statement piece for any room—a reminder of where Lampu Lampu began, and a glimpse of where we’re headed.

We use 3D printing manufacturing techniques. So, each product will have minor variations in color and texture, making each item truly unique!

Estimated production time is 1-2 weeks. We will start shipping after production of each lamp is complete. Each lamp is made-to-order (made after we receive the order) in our design studio in JB, Malaysia.

Design

Taking its name from the Cantonese word "Dang Lung" and the Malay word "Tang Lung" for lantern, the geometric shape was inspired by a combination of the various lanterns made from paper that can be found all across Asia. The tripod base shape is influenced by the Japanese stone lantern Ishi-Doro design, lending an element of zen calmness to the lamp that will help melt the stresses and anxieties of everyday life.

Each shade is carefully 3D printed to create a weave-like pattern that plays with light and shadow, casting a warm, textured glow that appears solid and translucent depending on the angle you look at it. The result is a sculptural object that celebrates our roots while pushing the boundaries of what 3D printing can achieve.

Materials & Care

Shade and base are made from PLA. The lamp also comes with a sturdy cord made with durable premium fabric textile and an EU plug head.

Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. For any stubborn marks, dab a cloth in a little soap and wipe thoroughly. For obvious reasons, please make sure your beautiful lamp is unplugged while you do this!
